The biggest misconception of Wicca must be that we worship the devil. Many Christians believe this, with good reason, their bible tells them this. While many Wiccans get repeatedly harassed my people who misunderstand them, many people also take that extra mile to go out and find the truth about Wicca. In reality, we worship a God and Goddess, and depending on the type of Wicca, sometimes more deities. Also, many Wiccans or soon-to-be Wiccans believe that they can do love spells. While this is true, they can, it is strongly ill advised. Tampering with love is, well, not good. Something that is acceptable in Wicca is making love stronger, as long as the other person knows what you are doing and is okay with it. Messing with peoples' wills when they don't want you to can result in bad things. I'm going to plug a few good sites below so any who are interested in reading up on true Wicca, they can.

There is a darker side to Wicca. Unfortunately, while the Wiccan law has the law of three, (Whatever you do, good or bad, comes back to you times three,). Wiccans are supposed to be pure, or good, of body and mind (meaning we think no evil, do no evil,) some Wiccans, or "wannabe witches" as I call them, still practice bad magic. They use it to hurt and cause havoc, which many Wiccans frown upon. Along with other various reasons, they have given us a bad name. But the chances are that if you encounter a Wiccan, they will be a nice one:)

Advice I would give to someone interested in becoming a Wiccan. As a open Wiccan (meaning I am open about my religion whenever most ask,) I get people asking me if I could help them become Wiccan, and I always reply with the same answer, "Why do you want to be a Wiccan?" If your reason to be Wiccan is a bad one, (if you want to cast bad spells, love spells, or any ulterior motives,) then I won't help. I refuse to be the cause of a false Wiccan or a wannabe witch. Being Wiccan isn't about the spells, its about the God and Goddess and, well, the universe and earth as a whole in cooperation with everything from you to me. But if the person wants to be Wiccan for the right reasons, then I usually refer them to the following sites and tell them to contact me with any questions. But if you really want to be Wiccan, you have to let the Goddess and God into your heart and perform the self-initiation by yourself. That's a journey you have to take alone:)
