Real Ghost Stories
Weird Mama By Annie
This is a totally true story. My mom acts weird and says
some really weird stuff. She also sleeps about 16 hours out of
the day. Both me and my sister think she sleepwalks, but not in
the conventional sense. We think that her spirit, confined to a
body with numerous health problems, detaches from her body and
goes wandering when she's asleep. For instance, this happened
to us. Me and my sister are night owls, and we like to stay up
all night long. We were sitting in our den watching TV, when we
heard a thump in our living room. We looked to see what happened,
and a book was lying on the floor. It was a book of poetry, opened
to page 39 and a poem by Walt Whitman. I put the book back, though
we hadn't heard any footsteps, and I could hear my mom snoring in
her room. The next morning, I found my mom in the kitchen humming
to herself. When I asked her how she slept, she said,"I had a strange
dream last night. I dreamed that I was looking through a book of!
poetry and I found a poem by Whitman that I hadn't heard since
I was little." This freaked me out, but I didn't say anything
to my mom. My mom has told me many times that she'll dream that
she's reading a book, books she's never seen in her life, and she'll
pick up the actual book sometime later and know the story. Many
times, I've gotten home late and I'll see my mom waiting up for
me just inside the front windows, and I'll wave or call "hello".
But then I'll unlock the door, go inside, and she's sound asleep
in her bed. Then, usually the next morning, she'll tell me that
she was worried about me being out so late, but went to bed as usual.
My mom has told both me and my sister that she's haunted by spirits,
and she hears voices, and she has conversations with herself. But,
hey, whatever, she's my mom.
