A modern classic about a creature that reaches you in your most vulnerable state, your dreams. This first installment of what would turn out to be a long series, I felt carried the most chill value.
Freddy Kreuger, now famous for his glove of razors, was more of a spectral creature in this first one. He appeared more distorted and unclear. I think this give this first edition more sheer chill than any of the succeeding installments.
Fred Kreuger, on the whole has a quality of terror never seen before, in that you cannot escape him...after all, he's in your dreams!
An excellent chiller. I give it four and a half chills.
