Real Ghost Stories
The Haunting of Ada Road By randy g.
The Following is a true story. It still gives me goosebumps when I think about it!
It was a warm friday night, in the summer of 1986. My friend Angel
& myself, were out riding around looking for something to get into.
We were seniors at a small town high school, & like all small towns,
there was nothing to do, if you didn't have much money.
We were riding down this curvy, desolate road, in my Chevette, when
we saw an old man walking in the middle of the road. It was unusual
because this particular stretch of road, was in the middle of nowhere.
On the left side of the road, there was nothing but woods. On the
right side, a steep enbankment, & some railroad tracks.
Angel said,"Randy, stop & see if that old-man needs a ride or some
help." We thought maybe his car was broken down, & he was walking
for help. I slowed down right beside him, & since it was summertime,my
window was already down. I said, "Do you need some help?" He was
still walking slowly, so I was driving beside him really slow. He
was about 3feet from my car. I noticed he had on an old brown suit,
that was kind of worn out. He acted as if he didn't see me. Again,
I said, "Hello? Do you need a ride somewhere?" He stopped, so I
did too. Slowly, he turned to look at me, & when he made eye contact
with me, he faded away! I mean, it was just like some special effect
in the movies! When I looked into his eyes, he dissapeared. There
was nobody there! I was in shock, so I just sat there gasping for
breath. Angel saw this happen too, so she reached over & stomped
my foot on the gas pedal! We pealed out, & were so freaked out,
we kept screaming, "Oh my god! What just happened?" We were so scared, we drove about 15 or 20 miles out of our way, so
we didn't have to go back that way.
The next day, we were telling some friends what had happened to
us, & as you can guess, they didn't believe us. I told this girl
named Sharon about it, because she lives about 2 miles from where
it happened. As soon as I started telling her about the old man,
she interrupted & said, "Did he have on a brown suit?" I said, "Oh
my god! Yes! How did you know?" She said that she hadn't seen him,
but her mom & several other people who live down there had seen
him, but never got close to him like we did. Her mom told her that
in the 1920's or'30's, these 4 guys robbed a local bank & the police
were chasing them down curvy Ada Road. The car didn't make the last
curve, & crashed down over the embankment, onto the railroad tracks.
All 4 men were killed. When the police recovered the bodies, they
didn't find the money! To this day, the money was never recovered.
Legend has it that one of the bank robbers (wearing a brown suit)
walks along that desolate stretch of road, still looking fo!
r his money.
