As promised we will be sharing the wisdom that Agememnon conveys. He has graciously shared his mail with FrightScape for the knowledge of all.

IF you send a message to Agememnon that you wish to make private please indicate so in your message and he will respond to you privately.

hi there ..... thanks for replying! It's been a while though and I thought you had no intention in answering my e-mail. But I understand you probably get a rack of mail every day. Well I'm intrigued by you and I wanna know more about your kind. Where you from? -- originally and at this present time. I know this may sound funny but there was one time when I wanna be married to a vampire. I wanna see one and meet one, in person that is. You claim to be one - but I'm not quite convice coz I haven't seen you (this is not a hint that I wanna meet or anything okay). Anyway, I've been wondering for the longest time if vampires really do exist. I think there are vampires in this world, but at the same time I can't justify that coz I haven't seen one. But deep down I truly believe that. I think any fictitious character or thing that man comes up with is not fiction at all. I mean if you can think of something it probably exist but you just have to find it or create it. Does this make any sense to you? well I guess I better go .... hope to hear from you again.

Hello again,

I would think that wanting to be married to a vampyre or wanting to meet a vampyre was funny, if not for hundreds (probaly thousnads) of people who have said something similar.

There was a time when a vampyre struck such a chrord of fear in people's hearts that the mere mention of the word would prompt people to perform the sign of the holy cross.

In popular culture the vampyre isn't a villian but a creature of power with elegance, charm and style.

Consider this, would you want to meet a Demon in a dark alley? I mean a genuinely evil creature. Like the one who possessed that young girl in the movie "The Exorcist." Probably not. Most would scream and run in fear.

Yet the sight of Lugosi, Lee, Langella or Oldman would not generate the same fear at all. Many people might even welcome Nosferatu.

But I digress, to your next point, I quote one of my favorite science fiction authors, "all things are possible."

The "magic" that I have seen technology turn over the centuries has made me believe that.

Walk Carefully Friend,

Agememnon

Hello there,

I supposed already that not a vampire encounter would be my problem, more some different power, as vampires are not supposed to be shadows, but are supposed to look like humans or even cuter, no clue, never seen one so far.

I am sorry too if I did reply to you a little bit late, but I did not feel so well lately, just because of all this paranormal phenomenon which happened. For almost 1 week and a half I felt not good anymore, I felt really really tired as if all my energy would have been gone away, and I became angry for every little thing - which is very unusual for me as I am a very happy young woman most of the days. I did not feel the need to talk to persons anymore, did not want to go out as long as I use to do so, did get into arguements with my parents for a nothing. So yesterday I did go and see my housedoc who asked me out why I would feel like this and I answered him it would be because of all the things I would see that are going on in this world, things which I can't always change as I would like to, change for the good. When I see that one did kill 168 people in a bombing in 1995 and yesterday he has been executed in return, even if it is not at 100% sure if he is indeed the bombing pe rson, that terrifies me. I think killing someone who did kill 168 people does not bring the solution to the problem either. America seems so lost in my eyes, the system is lost and they try now to convince our European Leaders of putting up missiles for defence. Everything should be made for war in the eyes of the American Leaders and I don't understand it. Everything just makes me sad, may that be a suffering of an animal or a suffering of a human. Altough that today I feel again better, as I am considering myself as pretty strong inside and outside, as I am fighting to surcome those negative thoughts. What do you think....how will mankind survive? Do we have a chance to survive under such conditions? I am sometimes so sick of everything evil that goes on here on this planet that I just want to destroy it.....sometimes I can destroy it and sometimes I can't, because it is too far away from my small country, yes still I am sitting in the heart of Europe.

You surely tell me now that I shall not worry too much about it, that I have to find my peace within this world, but...... how can I find my peace if I am human, if I know that I am part of the universe but that some humans can't behave correctly? How is it during your time of life, have people been better some centuries ago or do you think that nowadays people would be better? And....most of all....how can I surcome all my negative thoughts that I have concerning the Earth sometimes????

Then my last question is the following: were you never scared of biting once friends of yours or were your friends never afraid of getting bitten by you??

Take care Agememnon....oh...and concerning the Agememnon of the Greeks, I have to say that I did visit once the tomb where he was supposed to rest, as I have been in Greece. Greece is anyway the most beautiful country I have seen so far (right next to Luxembourg of course.....LOL). If ever you would like to get to know more about Europe or some of the different European towns or cultures, don't hesitate to ask me, I did study German and History and would be really pleased to tell you something about the beautiful things I have seen so far in my young life (I am only 26 Y, soon 27). I wished for you that you could see those things too...sometimes it makes me sad that you can't :o(

*friendly hugs*

Membi :o)

@--/---- ===> this shall be a virtual rose.....for you and Leanne

Hello Membi,

Ahhh, your going to force me to become philosophical again. I feel for you in your melencholy and I hope you are able to withdraw from it. I find that, often, a symbolic gesture can work to your benefit in dealing with supernatural phenomina.

Native American's used to burn Sage to keep away evil. It was called "smudging" I think. I'm not sure exactly why, but it seems to be a useful thing to do in these cases. Either way it could not hurt to try.

On your other topic, you should not dispair at the seemingly self destructiveness of mankind. Even though it often "seems to be getting worse," man has been this way always. It is due to the advances in communication and education that it is being put into sharper relief.

Speaking as one who has seen vast changes in world policies, in so many ways people are actually no worse than one or two hundred years ago, just a bit different.

Do not dispair so. Make a difference or a change.

I sincerely hope you feel well again.

Yours Affectionately,

Agememnon

Dear Agememnon,

I do watch Buffy from time to time indeed. I think by meaning powerful you mean powerful as in physical strength, not powerful as in psychical strength? What if a hunter would be psychically more strong than you? Would it stop you from biting? When someone is bloodless that does not necessarily mean that someone is dead right, as I think that 15 minutes is not very long!?

About the mortals whom you did fear, I guess everyone would fear them after I did read what you wrote me. They are really locking mortals into cages? Are those mortals gothic people or 'pseudo-vampires'? You mean they lock them into cages, because they think those people would be real vampires and not mortals??????

I would like to know though how you did save mortals from dying and which sort of situations you have encountered so far, as actually youre body is only 17 years old and your spirit is much older.

Greetinxkkssssss

Myriam

Hello again Myriam,

I am not a psychic, nor have I ever men anyone who had any psychic effect on me. That is not to say that it is not possible, it's just impossible for me to answer the question without a common frame of reference.

To answer your other question, that is correct. They often mitakenly believe they have captured vampyres. True Vampyres, though we exist are fairly rare. These people's energies would be better spent fighting cancer or some plague that really kills a large number of humans rather than their overly dramatic and somewhat egocentric crusades.

Dear Sir,

I came upon the frightscape web site while browsing the ever interesting www. After reading the posts presented I have to say you have the patience of a saint. I do commend you on effort to try and give a better understanding of what you are to those curious. I saw the numerous posts about fangs, blood, etc, and I am a little disappointed that no one has ever asked about "who" you are. Oh, I am aware that almost everyone of the posts has referred to "what" you are, but I am sure you understand what I'm referring to.

I read your introduction and thought it very admirable of you to take the step to try and clear up the confusion you saw. I do not know if the site is still up and running as of this date, but I have to admit my curiosity got the better of me.

Perhaps you would be willing to tell me a little about "you" the man, I am aware from the question and answers posted of "what" you are. You seem very well educated in the ways of life, I can tell by your responses you have definite opinions. I would be interested in hearing them. I am not asking you divulge any personal information you can talk in generalities if you prefer.

I suppose it would be only appropriate for me to tell you a little about myself since I am imposing on you to tell me something about you. I am female, no longer a "spring chicken" as they say. I am also on the east coast south though, I also won't give my exact location. I originally am from the Ny/Nj area but have not been back up that way in years. I am an independent contractor . I am not a vampire, wiccan, werewolf, etc. I am an empath,as are all the females on one side of my family tree. No I'm not crazy or have a screw loose, I enjoy books, any kind of reading I am always interested in learning anything and everything. And I do have definite opinions. I don't believe that to be a bad thing.

I will leave it at that for now. I do hope to hear from you in the future. Until then stay well and safe.

Respectfully,

S_sidhe

Hello Sidhe,

I thank you for your complements. I suppose, with age comes patience. Although Leanna might disagree with your interpretation of my correspondence.

In my life it is useful to have people doubt what I am. I find it amusing to answer them. In a way, it is counter to my own safety. But, then again what is existence without creating some risk for yourself.

Feel free to ask me any questions you like about me, my life, or anything else you would like to know.

I am a self educated individual. I have had some formal preparation, but most of my education has come from books and life experiences.

I have noticed that, I often have a greater ability to see trends and patterns than most. It is a wise historian indeed who can truely see how often histroy repeates its patterns.

Here I go becoming philosophical again. I am at your disposal.

Dear Sir,

I would like to thank you for responding so promptly to my email. It is rare to find those who still have a tendency towards being polite. I am grateful you are willing to discuss topics with me, so I thought perhaps this may be a good one to start off with.

From what I've seen posted on numerous vampire/otherkin websites has me slightly confused. I cannot understand why there are so many that want to become something other than what they are. I am referring to the numerous posts about finding someone to "turn" them etc. I suppose everyone at one time or another has wanted to be someone or something else, but over the years it seems to be a growing trend. I wonder if those posting are really aware of what they are asking. What are their reasons? So many are young and have the world open to them, they can become anything they chose to be. Could it be that they feel becoming a vampire will automatically cause things to happen for them? That life will becaome all that much easier? Is it they want to be different or more interesting?

Perhaps its that we as a society have failed our younger generations? Have we created a world where the young cannot see any future for themselves, and then go in search of becoming something/someone else? I'm not sure they know what they are asking, it is so hard in todays time for many to seperate reality and what they see in the films, televison etc. I am assuming many think it would be like the films. But don't we all wish life to be like television or in films? Perhaps if they took the time to ask themselves what would happen when the novelty of being a vampire wore off then what? Do they really want to place the value of another person by how much blood they can get from them? Or is it immortality they seek?

So these are a few questions I have. Perhaps you have some opinions that could help me better try and understand. Once again my thanks for the quick reply. Until next time stay well and safe.

Respectfully,

Sidhe

Hello Again Sidhe,

I find it indeed a pleasure to converse with someone civilized and articulate. So often I find myself reading and re-reading modern slang. It took me some time to translate "coz" into "because." I find what many have to say to be interesting, and I realize that this is the language of the age. English has changed considerably over the years.

But I digress. I feel that people are seeking several things. First is an escape to freedom. Freedom from society, from their responsibilities and from their own minds. In the words of a sixties poet "freedom is just another word for nothing left to loose."

My existence isn't really freedom. What most do not understand, is that they would be replacing one purgatory for another. and mine is more confining than they could imagine. I have a certain lifestyle and material posessions because I have had centuries to aquire them. Most vampyres do not endure centuries. Leanna and I do because we have each other. Immortality is not a blessing.

The next thing they believe they will gain is lack of lonliness. If they only knew how far from the truth that is.

The last thing they believe is that it will give them a renewed elan or zest for life. Perhaps at first, many find the change interesting. But it wares off quickly, and with my perception of time being what it is, it makes it that much more expediant.

I hope I have answered your questions sufficiently. I hope you will write again. I enjoyed our correspondence.

Sincerely yours,

Agememnon

Dear Sir,

I hope this mail finds you well and safe. I do agree with what you stated previously in your last email.

It is true that many I suppose do go on the quest for immortality. But many fail to see that life and death necessiate each other. We live in a dualistic world with dualism being the basis of philosophy and religion. The bible is the original source about the creation of dualism, with the story of Adam and Eve distinguishing between good and bad. Is there any life after death, or did we simply exist before birth? We are just feeding our brain with senseless questions, because our thinking takes place in a dualistic system?

Then of course we start to question more, for example...Is there such a thing as a soul? I myself cannot even begin to say or even try to say I know the answer. The question of the reality of the soul and its distinction from the body is among the most important problems of philosophy. Various theories as to the nature of the soul have claimed to be reconcilable with that of immortality, but it is a sure instinct that leads us to suspect every attack on the substantiality or spirituality of the soul as an assault on the belief in existence after death.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Until then stay well and safe.

Respectfully,
Sidhe

Hello Again Sidhe,

Your philosophy of dualism is actually more prevelent in eastern religions of the Yin and the Yang and the balances of Karma than of the Judeo/Christian faiths.

There is dualism, I believe even for a vampyre. The universe does not give or take unevenly. For example, I have not seen a sunrise, other than television or cinema, for almost three centuries. I cannot venture into daylight. Even though I may have advantages to humans, I am by no means "Superman."

I do believe in a soul. I believe that there is an energy to consciousness that cannot be easily explained. I can suggest a book, "The Emperor's New Mind." It delves into the questions of consciousness. It asks important questions about the ability to "create" consciousness other than the usual methods of human procreation.

It is said that souls have cohesion to one another and that we travel through life with the same souls from previous lives. I wonder then about me.

Hi there ...... thanks for replying!!! I have another question -- you think all vampires have this fixed fascination with death?? I do for a very long time now and both my step dad and my mom thought it was just a phase. You think this is just a phase I'm going through? I used to take pictures of cemeteries. I like hangin out at cemeteries coz it's so peaceful and it makes me feel different -- like nothin else could go wrong.

Hello Again,

All people have a certain fascination with death. How many people stop to gape at a road accident hoping to glimpse a fatality?

Some are more fascinated by it than others. I don't thing there is necessarily anything wrong with it. Your present deep fascination could be a phase. However, you could consider turning your intrest into a profession. There is often much that can be learned from the dead. I have read more books on mummification than I can count. There are countless scientists who study them.

Being in a cemetary can be like traveling in time. You look at the names and dates and you can often see people like us. Wonder what is the point. We live, we die. But each person can do or see something interesting. It's history, and it can be fascinating.

Your youth is your advantage. You can "go the road less traveled." See and learn all you can. Be extraordinary.

Walk Carefully my friend,

Agememnon

Hi again,

Thanks a lot for caring so much for me, I recognised this in the last email you wrote me. I did not get a chance to reply untill now, because I am pretty busy here at work and in general anyways.

And yes, last week I was in a bad mood, but your words did help me, most specially though I recognised something. I got this book about the outter and inner conscience and started reading it did help me within 2 days to come out of my negative thoughts. I started only thinking positive and making wished for myself. I wished for example to get a new boyfriend, someone nice and beautiful, someone friendly that would care for me. And somehow it seems to work out as I am soon meeting someone that I have known now for 2 months on the net, he is a goth as well and sooooooooooooooooo friendly and cute.

Yet still I have to say honestly here that I have to think of you from time to time as well, I don't know why but I think I care very much for you, sometimes I am worried for you I have to admit it now. Worried because I am reading a book called:'vampires amongst us', a book that describes the American vampire scene or shall I say a book that describes all the cruelty of those humans who pretend to be vampires. Then I can be happy to not live in the States when I read that.

Now before I leave the net, I have though 1 question: are you never planning to leave your country for all your life? I think it is sad when someone is constantly sitting in his native country and does not see much from the world......except maybe on TV.

#friendly hugs#

Membi :o)

Hello again Membi,

Your quite welcome. I am gratified to hear that you are feeling well again. The human mind can be a powerful thing. It regulates our bodies reactions.

I caution you not to believe everything you read. I am not in danger from those mortals who think that they are vampyres. They can be dangerous to other mortals though.

Perhaps when the day comes that I can travel to Europe in all darkness, I will consider it. Even though I have considered the Concorde, It usually does not travel only in dark hours, and I could not risk an airport or weather realted delay. To most, such things are an inconvienience. To me, it would be devastating.

I would also need to make arrangements with a trusted soul overseas. Leanna and I have seen such difficulties as not worth risking existence.

I appreciate your concern and the sentiment.

Sincerely Yours,

Agememnon
