As promised we will be sharing the wisdom that Agememnon conveys. He has graciously shared his mail with FrightScape for the knowledge of all.
IF you send a message to Agememnon that you wish to make private please indicate so in your message and he will respond to you privately.

Hello again, Agememnon, I totally understand what you said about telling too much. I read the biography you posted at the 'frightscape' website detailing your embrace. And I don't wish to delve too much into that myself - so we agree on that. And thank you for your response. I really do appreciate it.
One thing I must know before we carry on, and this is my first question - Are you truly as you say you are? To detail this question a bit more, verify the following for me:
* Nourishment from blood
* Enlarged Canines
* Truly walking dead, a.k.a. 'Undead'
* Only operate at night, as in you cannot be exposed to sunlight
* You do, in fact, live forever - respectively
* Heightened senses
* Abnormal strength, reflexes, and/or abilities
* Can you heal yourself with blood (yours or someone elses)
Also clarify for me the types of disadvantages, or ways you can 'die':
* Wooden stake in the heart
* Holy water burns
* Decapitation (this is pretty much apparent to kill anything, but for
clarity's sake)
* Crucifixes burn
* You must retire to coffins
* You must be invited into dwellings
* Sunlight
* You have to have soil of your homeland to rest
That about sums up the basics. If you can remember any big ones that I missed, left out, or that you may know that I may not, please, feel free to relate them to me. I just want to get an idea of what's true and untrue as far as the legends go. I ask for your complete and total honesty. And I thank you for your time.
Most Respectfully,
Veraxoris Avriel
"Omne ignotum pro magnifico est" - - Everything unknown seems magnificent

Hello Veraxoris,
You have certainly hit on most of the legends quite thoroughly. I will answer these to the best of my abilities.
>*Nourishment from blood
Yes
>* Enlarged Canines
Yes
>* Truly walking dead, a.k.a. 'Undead'
Define undead? We are all "undead." I simply haven't died.
>* Only operate at night, as in you cannot be exposed to sunlight
Yes
>* You do, in fact, live forever - respectively
So far
>* Heightened senses
Yes
>* Abnormal strength, reflexes, and/or abilities
I won't say "abnormal," but I will say more than human.
>* Can you heal yourself with blood (yours or someone elses)
Yes
>* Wooden stake in the heart
Yes (this would kill anyone)
>* Holy water burns
No, never.
>* Decapitation (this is pretty much apparent to kill anything, but >for clarity's sake)
yes (this too would kill anyone)
>* Crucifixes burn
No, Never.
>* You must retire to coffins
Not specifically. Although, there seems to be some instinctual attraction to them, anyplace sheilded from the sunlight will do.
>* You must be invited into dwellings
No, that's a myth.
>* Sunlight
Yes
>* You have to have soil of your homeland to rest
Well, I have never left this country, so I could not say personally, but I think this one is a myth as well.
I hope I have satisfied your curiosity.
Yours Truely,
Agememnon

Greetings Agememnon,
I've always thought that most myths and legends had roots in something that was somewhere. I, of course, have more questions, and I do appreciate your taking the time to answer them. Do you happen to have a screen name for AOL Instant Messenger? Perhaps we can talk on there sometime.
Some other questions I have: Do you know the history of your kind? More specifically, do you know the origins, the story? Also, as you sire another, is their blood less potent than that of yourself? How many of your kind is there in existance, or in America, or perhaps a better question is how manydo you know of? Also, do you have any special 'magickal' (for lack of a better term) abilities - like for example, you can mezmerize a mortal, read their mind, or anytthing like that. And, this is a bit ludicrous, but do you personally have a certian taste or preferance of who you feed on?
Also, you said on the website that you have sired three. How were you related to these people, and why did you choose them? I don't mean to pry.
Thanks, and take care,
Veraxoris

Hello Veraxoris,
An excelent collection of questions.
To begin, I do not use "Instant Messenger," mostly because of my typing skills. I am newer to technology and have no formal preparation in operating a keyboard. Sorry.
I know little of the vampyre lineage, and I do not know the origin of our bloodline. I do know that it can trace it's history back before the time of Christ. There is not much more that I can tell you on that subject.
As far as special abilities like the one's you are describing, I do not know of any vampyre gifted with the power of mezmerism. I have met a few psychic vampyres, but I do not belive that their abilites stem from their vampyric origin. As they claimed to have been psychic in their mortal lives as well.
I do not think there is a "weakening" with succeeding generations. The abilities we posses are merely the magnification of your mortal gifts. I am now somewhat stronger than Leanna for instance, but only in a measure she and I could appreciate.
I do not have a particular taste for a type of person, however, it seems to be a general consensus among us that certain victims are "sweeter."
Forgive me, but you have asked one question that I will not answer. The identity and relationship to me of those I have sent into darkness must not be revealed for their memory and perhaps one's safety.
I enjoy our dialogue.
Your's truely,
Agememnon

I am a new person to all this glorified vampyre persona's. I beleive that you could be a true vampyre but I also beleive that even though I have a curriosity about you and your kind, I don't want to know anything about it. I have been chased through my dreams for years by your kind and I have killedsome in those dreams. I know that this sounds like nothing but a dream but I am what I refer to as a dreamer. I walk the world in my dreams, I control my dreams I am a lucid dreamer. There are instances though where I cannot control certyain aspects of them. Vampires and werewolves are those aspects. I know this sounds silly but I beleive in both and I beleive both are the same with different styles/abilities.
I recently had a dream that a person who called himself a nightwalker and he defeated me. This had never happened and I have never before refered to the vampyres as such. He left me to live and talked with me . I will not tell you what was said other than these two things.
1. "Seek us and you shall find, hide and we shall search. No matter the wait
you will be the Nightwalkers kin."
2. "Though you have killed us you are respected by us."
My question is, is that with these words does that mean I am hunted by yourkind, or does it mean that I am known to your kind only in my projected self.
Also I would not be displeased if I was "brought to the night" as some say due to the fact that I have a goal, and that goal is to learn everything I can before my flame is snuffed out. I am a practitioner of the mystick arts and a person in constant pain. what I ask can be worse than what I am. The answer is eternity in that self. To be like is would be a blessing and a curse. I want it for I deserve the pain.

Hello Anthony,
You seem to be filled with an enormous self hatred. What brings this on? Why do you feel you are in deserving of pain? Have you done a grave injustice?
I am not a dream apparition, nor do I know of any of my kind who are. I cannot say where you do or do not have the gift of premonition, but I can say that there is partial truth in one of your statements.
"Seek us and you shall find,"
This in itself is usually true.
Walk carefully my Friend,
Agememnon

I noticed the y instead of the i in vampire, so are you a real vampire like hundreds of years old and if so please write me i have so many questions to ask you.

Hello,
I often use the older, english spellings for words. My formal preparation, although in this country, was by teachers born in England.
As for other facts of my life, I suggest you peruse my small biography and the other correspondence that I have allowed FrightScape to post.

If you are a true vampire, can you give me any info about the infomous Black Dutchman? All I know is that he was a true vampyre and that I'm the direct descendant of him!
If you have any info to help me with my search, Please Reply!!!!!!!

I know not of a Black Dutchman. It sounds like something I read once in a novel about the western colonies of the United States. If your searching for Lore, I might start there.

Dearest Agememnon,
(by the way, I like your name, Father of Electra, brother of Helen's husband, nice choice. :) ) I had emailed you before, but then I imagine a vampire has more to do than answer emails..lol.
In any case, it's of no importance. I do however have some more inquiries. Do you know anything of the beginnings of vampirism? Are you a seperate species? Or a development? Does anyone know who the first one was? Are the myths related to Romania, and the Carpathians viable?(surely there's a grain of truth in mythology.) And, do you ever become friends with mortals? (or would it be rather like a lion complacently chatting with a gazelle at a social mixer??? (just not done?)...lol... Couldn't help the curiosity. In any case, it's fascinating to think you may actually be what you say...and I shan't be silly enough to contend such a matter...(that would be rather oxymoronic, considering I'm writting you wouldn't it...) But it makes one imagine all the possibilities of what is out there. Well, I wish you well., and I'm wondering if you like history...(with your seeming propensity for greek myths.) I'm a History major myself...lol..I tend to love the past more than the present.... But that's another matter entirely. (makes you wonder, huh? )... In any case, thank you for the ability to allow us to write you. Fare thee well, and
Godspeed to you.
Isis.

Hello Isis,
I like your name as well.
I recently was asked questions about vampyre origins and lore. Unforunately, I know little of this. Even older vampyre's seem to know little of our origin. All I know is that our bloodline extends back to a time before Christ.
I too am somewhat a student of history. To learn the future, one has to look only to the past.
I think the legend of the vampire's origin in the Carpathian Mountains is probably due to Stoker's works. Younger people might think our origin is in New Orleans. :-)
Despite your somewhat accurate description of the Lion and the Gazelle, the Lion cannot apprecite the gazelle's beauty. Whereas We can. I often have friends who are mortal.
Yours Truely,
Agememnon

How will I know if I have found the vampyres or not? that is the only question that truly plagues me.
I beleive you said you can smell vampyre blood and mortal blood. Can you describe the difference in smell to me? And have you ever fed from another vampyre?

I have met few mortals who could smell human blood, let alone tell the subtle differences between. However, I will answer your question. A Vampyre's blood has a metalic odour to it. Especially after he or she has fed. Much line an old rusty chain. That is the best analogy I can give you.
You will know when you have met a real Vampyre. They will not need to convince you. A real vampyre won't have to.
People have asked to meet me in emails more times than I care to count, simply so I can PROVE to them who and what I am. But it doesn't matter what they believe really. I know who and what I am. If they choose not to believe it, I honestly do not care.
Walk Carefully my Friend,
Agememnon

I think I understand why a vampire would be amused by the Internet but I would like to thank you anyway. I have enjoyed reading your answers to things.
I think that the human heart is much darker than the vampire's for the vampire at least acts out of need. When I read of people wishing to be turned I do not understand this very well for what is it they long for? Thirst? Eternity? Or license to do that which they would do already? I am human and yet I don't know. Yet I think it is that they want to kill without being judged for it.
You have said you believe in god. Do you believe that vampires are evil or only humans?
Thank you,
Lynn of the Lynns

Hello Lynn,
I would say that evil and good are not absoloutes but in the perception of the observer.
If a lion stalks and kills a deer in an extremely violent and bloody manner, is the lion evil or just behaving within its nature?
If a soldier on the field of battle kills a fellow human being, is he or she evil? Or are we just protecting our own, and doing what we need to do to survive?
In my perception "senseless" killing is evil.
I hope I have answered your question to some satisfaction.
Walk carefully my friend,
Agememnon

How comes that you shall be a vampire? I have never seen one in my life before, so why should you now suddenly be one?

Yours,
Agememnon

Dear Agememnon,
I have a few questions for you, which I appreciate you taking the time to answer. First, when you claim a victim are they turned? Is there a special process involved in turning a mortal, or is it just a simple bite? Second, Since there are vampires, are there vampire slayers, and why do they not try to populate the wolr with their own kind? Third, where and how did the vampire originate? Since you are immortal, is there no god, are you a spawn of the devil, will you remain in limbo at the end of time.
Thank you for help with these questions.
release,
Logan

Hello Logan,
Simply biting someone does not make them a vampyre, despite the fables like Dracula that would lead you to believe so. A person would need to consume the blood of a vampyre to become a vampyre.
There have been people who have fancied thmselves vampyre "hunters" or, using your term, "slayers." Most have fled at the site of our strength and speed.
As far as being immortal, know only that I have not died yet. My aging seemed to have slowed or stopped. With this occurance, I have not become privy to any devine source of knowledge. God or the Devil have not spoken with me. I can only offer the wisdom of my years and experience.
Walk Carefully my Friend,
Agememnon

I know that this must sound crazy, but sometimes i believe myself to be a vampire. I know i'm not one but i want to become one. Sometimes i act like a vampire when i'm carrying on my normal life. I don't like the sun too much, i love meat, and i love the darkness very very much. I was wondering what you thought about this being a real vampire and all. I was also wondering how one actually becomes a vampire. I was also wondering how a vampire can die, and if any vampires are like Westley Snipes in BLADE... even though you don't believe in the hollywood style. I am anxiously awaiting your input.

Hello Tom,
Many people feel that they are drawn to a vampyric nature and think, therefore that they must be vampyres. As a mortal, I did not feel drawn to anything vampyre like as it is portrayed in fiction. It is a change that occurs when one consumes the blood of an existing vampyre. As far as my experience has led me, this is the only way.
There are, to my knowledge, no vampyres who walk during the daylight hours.
Walk Carefully my friend,
Agememnon
