Vampire Posting Horror

The Vampire

A Greeting to you all,

My name is Agememnon, and I am a Vampyre. I approached the creator of this Web site when I read all of the confusion that was being posted here. People wanting escape to the world of darkness makes me laugh. It's been a long time since I've laughed, a very long time. In any course, I have offered my services to supply advice to those who appear to be lost in this darkness.

I shall begin by stating that being a vampyre is both a curse and a blessing. I'm sure there are many of you already that know something about our kind through popular fiction. I'm equally sure that there are many of you who wish to emulate our kind. We have been over glamorized in text and film for more than a century. But the pain of the thirst that drives us is as unbearable as the ecstacy that quenches it. Often, I yearn for the mediocrity of mortal life.

I digress. I became a vampyre in October of 1722 in the city of Philadelphia. I was mere boy of seventeen. I worked on the docks to support my family since my father's death two years before. I was the oldest of four siblings and the only support for the family. My mother became addicted to laudanum tonic and arsenic after my father's death and she never recovered.

I had never intended to become a dock worker. I had some high school preparation (which was unusual in those days) and I had my sites set on becoming a lawyer like my father. After my father's untimely end, at the hand of a man who did not think my father defended him well enough, I took the only position at hand.

I worked from before dawn until well after sunset. It was a damp evening that I was returning home, when I slipped on the cobblestones. I fell, face first onto Front street. There was no underground sewage in Philadelphia as yet and I could barely breathe from the acrid smell of the run-off. I began to prop myself up when I was siezed by the back of my collar by a very strong hand. At first it righted me, then the hand vaulted me off of the ground. I am about six feet tall and I am built thickly having worked on the docks for two years. This was no small task.

I was thrown, literally, into a nearby alley-way south of Pine Street. As I lay on my back I saw a dark figure approach me. The light was insufficient for me to make out the features of the stranger but he was smaller than me by at least a handsbreath.

Like lightening, there was a hand over my mouth and one on my chest. They were small hands. I saw the stranger rip the fabric of my shirt with razor sharp teeth. The teeth were the only feature that gleemed in the darkness. I reached for the knife I used to cut the hemp rope that was used to lash down shipping crates. As I reached out with my other hand I made a startling discovery. As my fingers ran over a soft breast, I realized my assailent was not a man, but a woman!

I felt her tounge taste my flesh as her teeth sought purchase. I felt the pop as her enormous fangs pierced my skin. The intense pulling of it. I knew any woman this strong could only be a succubus from Hell. I could feel my heart pounding hard in my chest, hear the blood rushing in my ears. I had only one chance to stop her. I slashed at her throat with my knife. Blood poured out on me in a torrent. It filled my mouth eyes and nose. I swallowed it reflexively.

My world changed.

Leanna, the woman who attacked me that evening, is now my companion. My earlier assertion that she is a succubus from hell, is correct...and I love her.
